Quick tips for working with the 4 Human Design types

We live in a time where the workplace is becoming more diverse.

In many cases, bringing out the best in yourself and your co-workers can be a challenge especially when you're dealing with so many personality styles.

The Human Design Mapping System simplify the process of truly understanding yourself and your peers.

Using this system, communication becomes easier, relationships improve, and the workplace runs much more smoothly and effectively.

Here is an overview of the 4 personality types and some best practices to help deepen the bond with those individuals.

BUILDERS: They communicate best when asked specific yes/no questions. This is the fastest, direct approach to helping them get in touch with their powerful response system to know what they want to do and what they don’t want to do.

DO: Give them a couple options and zero in on the most important tasks.

--->Would you like to start this [project] right now?

--->Do you have time to finish up this [project] right now?

DON’T: Give them vague options or tell them what to do.

--->What do you want to work on today?

--->Do this project for me right now?

INITIATORS: They like being given all the information with freedom to work on it on their own. They don’t like being asked a lot of questions.

DO: Inform them of what’s on the agenda, what everyone is working on and what is required of them. Give them plenty of autonomy and space to get it done on their own.

--->We’re going to get on a call today at noon to discuss next steps for this project.

--->Calendar share so they are kept in the loop and vice versa.

DON’T: Ask them a lot of questions.

ADVISORS: They like being asked for their advice and specifically using the words “invite” to share what they see.

DO: Ask for their feedback. Literally use the words, “I invite you to…”share what they see is best or a naturally more efficient process to get things done.

DON’T: Pressure them to be more assertive or tell them what to do without an invitation.

EVALUATORS: They like to be asked and invited to share what they see needs to be adjusted. Spending time alone with freedom to collaborate when needed is essential.

DO: ask for their objective perspective. Give them plenty of time to assess the quality and health of the people in the environment.

DON’T: rush them

In Summary:

  • Give Builders something to respond to, ask them yes and no questions.

  • Use the phrases, ” I invite you” or “please advise” when talking to Advisors.

  • Inform Initiators and give them freedom to make it happen.

  • Evaluators thrive by being in the center of the group with plenty of time to assess what’s working and what’s not.

Learning how to communicate with each Type is the smallest adjustment you can make with the greatest rewards.
